Steve Winwood’s guitarist-of-choice for recording, touring, and writing, Brazilian-born Jose Neto is not only a guitarist, but an expert arranger and composer who, with Winwood, has followed in the footsteps of Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix – high stature for any musician. Brazilian-born guitarist Jose Neto solidifies his position in the upper echelon of jazz-rock fusion guitarists with his new album, “Other Shore,” a nine-song, mostly instrumental collection of sweet melodies and relaxed grooves that showcase the skill and musicality of his five-piece Netoband. Drummer Celso Alberti, percussionist Cafe da Silva and bassist Gary Brown lay down resonant Brazilian and world music rhythms that underpin the sophisticated, soft jazz musical interplay of Neto and star keyboardist Frank Martin.
