The Boombox is a newly formed band comprised of some of the finest live and studio musicians in San Francisco Bay Area. With a collective resume that is usually prolific and diverse, the band delivers a high energy show of dance and rock classics that span the decades, with a broad appeal and customizable show — adaptable to all kinds of special events. From Motown classics to R&B, funk and soul, to a broad spread of the most recognizable dance and pop hits of the 80s, 90s and today — The Boombox is built to command the dance floor, and keep your guests smiling and dancing all night long.
Featuring Teal Collins (vocals/ukulele/guitar) From Mill Valley – This powerhouse vocalist/songwriter moved to Austin in 2005, released 4 albums and toured the U.S. and Europe extensively with her original band The Mother Truckers. Songs of Teal’s have been featured in Movies and TV including the HBO series True Blood. Teal has recorded sessions for Grammy award winning producers Narada Michael Walden (Whitney Houston) and Stephen Bray (Madonna). Teal has also received Gold and Platinum albums for her work on Shanice (Motown records) and Third Eye Blind’s album Blue.
Miles Schon is a talented musician and songwriter who hails from a rich background in rock-n-roll. He is very modest about his background, playing down the fact that his father is one of the great American guitarists (Neal Schon, one of the founding members of the legendary rock band Journey), still he is rooted and grounded in the music his father turned him on to. Citing Jeff Beck as his all time favorite, he grew up listening to Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Santana and Eric Clapton. He describes his sound as “progressive hard rock with blues and pop/R&b mixed into one…” We describe it as “Face-Melting Shredding goodness!”
