BOSTON ROCKS is a live, themed musical format featuring the biggest hits from four of Boston’s legendary bands: Aerosmith, Boston, The Cars and The J. Geils Band.
The streamlined two+ hour presentation showcases four 15 minute sets from the best of the four original groups and, after an intermission, is repeated in a second hour, featuring different songs.
The show was conceived by Tabletop Productions who recruited long time band leader and Steven Tyler impersonator, Jay Basinger to produce the event. Jay disbanded his own Aerosmith tribute (Aerorocks) to put BOSTON ROCKS together.
Expect to hear classic Aerosmith songs like Walk This Way, Sweet Emotion, Come Together and Dream On. And you will hear live versions of Boston songs, including Don’t Look Back, More Than A Feeling, Long Time and more!
The Cars tunes covered in this show include You Might Think I’m Crazy, My Best Friends Girl, and the mega-hit, Just What I Needed, among others. And where else are you going to get a full dose of the great J. Geils Band, including driving presentations of Centerfold, Freeze Frame, Love Stinks and the quirky First I Look At The Purse. These great tunes are only a sample of the full repertoire played by Boston Rocks.
The only deviation from the four groups legacy of hits is a version of Dirty Water, a song that is about the city itself (and it’s fine looking ladies), originally recorded by the Los Angeles garage band, The Standells.
These long lasting, iconic songs cover music from parts of FOUR decades, and a variety of rock genres from the harder edged tunes by Aerosmith & Boston to the “new wave” hits by The Cars and the Blues tinged Rock of The J. Geils Band. BOSTON ROCKS is a “live jukebox” that you might find in the great New England city of Boston and is a show you won’t want to miss! A “Classic Rock Classic!”
