The SF Jazz Quintet is a modern jazz ensemble that plays original renditions of the great jazz standards composed during the Jazz Era. The Quintet has within it some of the most dedicated jazz musicians in the Bay Area. Founded in 2018 by Music Director/Educator and Guitarist Derek Kudrow, the SF Jazz Quintet also includes Bassist Paul Aubert, a working Bay Area musician and a member of the COM jazz band. Alto/Tenor Saxophonist Peter Graves who studied a the New England Conservatory of Music and is revered by local orchestras and jazz combos alike. Contemporary Jazz Charting Drummer/Educator Darryl Kniffen, (Darrylkniffen.com) who continues to inspire and explore the possibilities of original rhythms, and Producer/Educator/Trumpeter Cayce Carnahan, Music Director of Marin Middle School and College of Marin Jazz Ensemble. The SF Jazz Quintet has within it over 100 years of musical dedication and will surely delight audiences and jazz aficionados alike.
